Choose TermAI if…
TermAI gives you a host list, tabs, key manager, SFTP browser and AI help. In Termux you type `ssh` at a prompt and manage config files by hand.
Termux is Android-only (the iOS build was discontinued). TermAI is native on both.
ShellMon and the AI helper exist in TermAI. Termux is a raw shell — powerful, but no guardrails.
Choose Termux if…
Termux is a genuine package-managed userland: install Python, Node, gcc, git, run servers locally, script everything. TermAI's Android local terminal covers basics but Termux goes far deeper.
If you're comfortable editing `~/.ssh/config`, chaining tools, and writing shell scripts on-device, Termux's openness is the point. It's FOSS and infinitely hackable.

Termux is free and open source. It's not trying to be a polished SSH client — and TermAI isn't trying to be a full Linux distro. Different tools.

For SSH/SFTP and quick local commands, yes. For a full package-managed Linux environment with compilers and long-running local services, no — use Termux for that.
Does TermAI have a local terminal like Termux?
On Android, yes — an Alpine Linux environment via proot, no root needed. It's lighter than Termux but covers Python, Node, Git, etc.
Can I use both?
